Pokoy is a powerful timer designed to help you meditate for longer and more frequently.

How it works?

This is a Fibonacci meditation timer. It relieves boredom by counting down with progressively longer stretches of time. In addition, session statistics give instant feedback on the long-term positive effects of meditation.
  • A series of timers following one another

The timer is divided into parts and tells you when the stage is over and how long to wait until the next stage.
  • Their duration starts with 1 minute and gradually increases

This is a Fibonacci exponent where each successive step is the sum of the previous two. For example: 1 + 2 + 3 + 5 = 11 minutes
  • And what's the deal?

The magic here is that the emphasis is on the extra time rather than the overall duration of the meditation. It feels a little longer than the previous one, but bearable.
  • In total, the result is more than it seems

At any stage, you can end the meditation and stop the timer. After that, the time of the session will be recorded in your statistics as the last step of the timer passed. For example, if you meditate for 12 minutes, it will be recorded as 11 (1 + 2 + 3 + 5), but you will feel as if only 5 minutes have passed.

Meditate for as long as you want

I did "Pokoy" primarily to achieve a personal goal. I wanted to accumulate 100 hours of meditation in a year, which meant I had to meditate for 16 minutes every day. Seemed easy, right? In practice, it turned out to be more difficult, and I meditated less and shorter. I created this app to address the accessibility and simplicity of the first step to meditation. I have now achieved my original goal, and I meditate for an average of 20 minutes a day.
